Broadmoor Golf Course. Opened in 1931, Broadmoor is one of Portland’s most pleasurable and popular golf courses. Broadmoor is a 6404-yard par 72 public golf course that spreads over 220 acres of breathtaking landscape, with beautiful views of 3 mountains (including Mt. Hood) from numerous tees and fairways. A variety of interesting hazards, undulating fairways, a variety of trees, green side bunkers, Broadmoor Lake, and natural water hazards provide plenty of challenge throughout the course. Eastmoreland Golf Course & Driving Range. Oregon’s second oldest golf course and the top choice for a municipal course in Portland, Eastmoreland is a beautiful 18-hole public golf course. Eastmoreland is ranked one of the nation’s top 100 public courses. The City Championship was created here and has been held here ever since the opening summer of 1918. Heron Lakes Golf Course. Nestled between the Willamette River and the Columbia Slough, Heron Lakes’ Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed courses the Great Blue and the Green Back - offer 36 holes of challenging golf. The Great Blue, one of the most difficult courses in Portland, is a links-style course with water, tall rough, narrow fairways, sand everywhere, and small greens that roll and pitch. The Green Back is similar to the Great Blue except it has more trees and fewer fairway bunkers. Listed by Golf Digest as one of the top 75 public courses in the U.S., Heron Lakes has hosted the annual Portland Invitational Tournament and the 2000 USGA Amateur Public Links Championship. A beautifully redesigned course, RedTail (named for red-tailed hawks that nest in the trees) is a 7,100 yard, championship 18-hole course laden with risk-reward opportunities. Featuring four sets of tees, RedTail is characterized by its expansive greens and Scottish-style mounded fairways. Framed by strategically placed trees and water features, most greens are enhanced by large, white-sand bunkers that expand the array of shots needed to navigate the course. Rose City Golf Course. Portland’s second oldest municipal course, Rose City Golf Course is an 18-hole par 72 course with rolling, tree-lined fairways. Water comes into play on holes 10, 11, 14, and 15 and green side bunkers are well placed. Rose City features challenging, long par 4s. Tee Times: 503-253-4744.
Colwood National Golf Course Opened in 1929, Colwood National Golf Course lies between Columbia Blvd. and the Portland International Airport. The Columbia River slough runs across several relatively flat and narrow treelined fairways.
